How long is orientation and what should I bring?
Orientation lasts three full days, and you will need to bring the following items:
- Class A CDL
- Social Security Card
- Employment verification documents
- CDL school transcripts and a certificate if you are a Student Driver
- Medical releases or information for the MRO to complete your DOT Physical
- 1-2 weeks of clothing
- Bedding
- Personal hygiene items
- Bath towels
- An alarm clock
- A voided check, or a letter on bank letterhead that includes your account information for direct deposit set up.
What is the pay structure?
U.S. Xpress offers Owner Operators the flexibility of choosing either a percentage-based contract or a mileage-based contract.
Is there forced dispatch?
No, there is no forced dispatch.
Is there a passenger or pet policy?
Owner operators can have one pet on their truck but must fill out the necessary paperwork beforehand. You may only carry a passenger who has been issued a Rider Permit.
