HOME-BASE HUB

CONVENIENT NATIONWIDE
TERMINALS

Our convenient network of nationwide terminals ensures that every truck driver has a home-base hub where they can get to know their support team, relax, socialize, grab a shower, or take care of truck maintenance.

QUALIFICATIONS

Must have a CDL A & 21 years or older.

Must have 3 months of verifiable experience

No more than 1 CMV on-road preventable accident in the last 2 years, no major preventable within 5 years.

No more than 2 moving vilations in the last 2 years.

No DUI/DWI within the past 5 years, or 10 years if the offense occurred while holding a CDL.

Must be able to pass a DOT physical and drug test. No drug related conviction within the past 5 years, or 10 years if the offense occurred while holding a CDL. No positive/refused tests in the past 10 years with CDL-A/CLP.

SAP drivers are not eligible for hire.

What is the home time policy?

At U.S. Xpress our home time policy is flexible. 

As a driver, you know what works for you, and that’s why we don’t have a set home time policy. Whether you need longer length of haul runs that keep you on the road and maximize your earning potential, or regionalized freight to help you get home when you need to, we have options. 

How long is orientation and what should I bring to it?

Orientation lasts three full days, and you will need to bring the following items:

  • Class A CDL
  • Social Security Card
  • Employment verification documents
  • CDL school transcripts and a certificate if you are a Student Driver
  • Medical releases or information for the MRO to complete your DOT Physical
  • 1-2 weeks of clothing
  • Bedding
  • Personal hygiene items
  • Bath towels
  • An alarm clock
  • A voided check, or a letter on bank letterhead that includes your account information for direct deposit set up.

How are OTR drivers paid? / How often do drivers get paid?

All OTR truck drivers are paid weekly. Drivers get paid a set cent per mile (CPM) rate for the dispatched miles they drive.

How many miles per week do U.S. Xpress OTR drivers typically drive?

Most solo drivers drive 2,000+ miles per week. Top performers consistently run between 2,300- 3,000+ miles per week. 

Are pets allowed?

U.S. Xpress drivers can have one cat or dog on a company truck.

Can I have a rider on the truck with me?

U.S. Xpress drivers are allowed to have one company-approved rider on their truck.
