U.S. Xpress Honors 63 Drivers for 80 Million Miles of Safe Driving
Five Drivers Recognized for Completing Over Three Million Safe Miles
Chattanooga, Tenn. (October 23, 2019) – U.S. Xpress, Inc., a subsidiary of U.S. Xpress Enterprises, Inc. (NYSE: USX) (the “Company”), the nation’s fifth largest asset-based truckload carrier by revenue, honors 63 of its drivers for more than 80 million miles of safe driving at an annual awards ceremony this Friday, October 25 in Chattanooga, Tenn. In total 58 drivers will be named “Million Milers,” having each driven one million miles or more safely during their career.

Five of the drivers honored have reached over three million miles each throughout their career. Those honorees include: Donald Powell, a Signal Mountain, Tenn., resident with over 20 years in the industry; Ted Wilson, a Benton, Tenn., native who has been with U.S. Xpress for 34 years; Dennise Lupsa, a Memphis, Tenn., resident who has been with the company for 15 years; and Daniel and Cynthia George, a husband and wife driving team from Eads, Co., who have been with U.S. Xpress for 15 years.
Additionally, U.S. Xpress will recognize three drivers who have earned acclaim in 2019 from customers or external associations as well as two who are retiring from the company after 20 years. Those drivers include Scott and Sylvia Smith, Kevin Lassing, Tim Keckley and Jaron Grier. The awards ceremony is part of a two-day event hosted by U.S. Xpress for drivers and their families. U.S. Xpress holds awards ceremonies twice a year, in the spring and fall, to recognize drivers with mileage milestones and those who have showcased exceptional commitment to the organization.
