U.S. Xpress Enterprises, Inc. Provides Enrollment Update on First-of-its-Kind College Scholarship Program

Chattanooga, Tenn. (March 4, 2019) – U.S. Xpress Enterprises, Inc. (NYSE:USX), the nation’s fifth largest asset-based truckload carrier, today announced that the Company has 107 drivers enrolled in classes for bachelor’s or master’s degrees from University of Arizona Global Campus, an accredited online school, as part of its Full Ride program, launched in September 2018. Additionally, dependents of U.S. Xpress truck drivers can also enroll in classes from University of Arizona Global Campus at no cost to the driver or their dependent as part of the Full Ride initiative. To date, 22 dependents have registered in classes.

Unlike traditional tuition reimbursement programs, students participating in the U.S. Xpress Full Ride program do not have to pay the money upfront for college and then later seek reimbursement. The Full Ride program pays all costs directly to the university, including tuition, books and course materials, removing any financial barrier for U.S. Xpress drivers and their families.

“We’re thrilled to offer our drivers an opportunity many didn’t think was possible,” stated Eric Fuller, CEO and President of U.S. Xpress. “We are very encouraged by the initial success of the program.”

“I’m currently enrolled and pursuing my Bachelor of Science in Information Technology,” commented Jaime Mount, Professional Truck Driver, U.S. Xpress. “I’ve been wanting to go back to school for a while now to get my bachelor’s degree, and who knows, maybe even my master’s degree. Thanks to the U.S. Xpress Full Ride program, I can chase that dream and one day accomplish my goal.”

Experienced professional truck drivers are eligible to participate as soon as they begin work with U.S. Xpress, and student drivers are eligible to start taking classes as soon as they have completed their behind-the-wheel training and are promoted to “first seat” driver. Each driver may have a total of two family members enrolled in school at one time (either two dependents or the driver and one dependent). Dependents must be aged 17 to 26.
