Honoring our Million Milers
On April 24, the U.S. Xpress team came together in Chattanooga for one of the most anticipated events of the year: our annual Million Miler Celebration. It was a day filled with pride, gratitude, and well-deserved recognition. This year, we honored 58 incredible drivers who achieved the milestone of 1, 2, or even 3 million safe miles driven with U.S. Xpress. These individuals prioritize safety every time they hit the road, and it shows.
Recognizing Drivers
The day started with our Walk of Fame at Chattanooga headquarters. Those honored were welcomed by U.S. Xpress team members lining the halls and stairwells, clapping and cheering as each driver walked through the doors. Honorees found their names excitedly on our Million Miler walls, as proud photos were taken to commemorate the day.
Later, drivers and their guests made their way to the awards banquet and dinner at the Westin hotel downtown. Groups snapped pictures in our photo booth and caught up with fellow drivers and support staff, there to honor this amazing achievement. VP of Dedicated, Ashley Ellison, looks forward to honoring drivers on her team each year. “This is my favorite event of the year,” she said. “It is truly an honor to meet and spend time with these amazing folks who exemplify our safety culture and what it means to be a Million Miler.”
A Culture of Safety
As awards were announced from the stage, leadership emphasized how much our drivers’ achievements inspire others and how powerful that can be. Driver support staff cheered for each driver as their name was called in recognition, showing just how much we value our drivers and what they do.
In addition to recognizing those with Million Miler status, we proudly recognized our Drivers and Trainers of the Year, individuals who go above and beyond every mile of the way. Almost every driver spoke on the importance of safety as they received their award — a theme throughout the evening.
As a transportation company, safety is always a big deal. These honored, professional drivers prioritize it every time they put their truck in drive. You don’t get to Million Miler status otherwise. Getting here takes years of dedication, hard work, and professionalism. Some of our drivers have been driving with U.S. Xpress for two decades or more, working toward this achievement.
Dreams Come True
Three Million Miler Jorge Sierra is one of those drivers whom we had the chance to recognize. Jorge reminded all in attendance of what this journey means, saying proudly, “After 23 years, all my dreams are coming true.”
