Honoring the people who keep our drivers moving, mile after mile
Behind the scenes, there’s a team that keeps our drivers moving day after day. Responsible for the upkeep of thousands of tractors and trailers, their job never ends. Every mile our trucks travel begins with the incredible work of our Maintenance team — and during Maintenance Appreciation Week, we celebrate them for everything they do.
From technicians and mechanics to parts coordinators, trailer managers, and XRA specialists, each team member plays a vital role in keeping our fleet moving.
One example of someone doing it right is Louisiana Shop Manager A.G. O.
Known for his open-door leadership style, A.G. is passionate about developing future talent. Several of his team members have grown from wash bay roles to top technical positions, thanks to his coaching and mentorship. He shared: “To be successful, you must surround yourself with good people, and I have some of the best coworkers a person could ask for.”
Our 200+ technicians across 12 shop locations have a critical job that impacts us all: Ensuring safe and reliable equipment for our drivers. And the results of their hard work and dedication speak for themselves.
By the Numbers
Over the past year, our Maintenance Team has been busy. What kept them the busiest? Tires! Over 33,000 tires were changed by this amazing team. Other common repairs were things like brakes, tractor bodywork, and complex cranking and exhaust system issues — showing just how wide-ranging their expertise truly is.

Behind these numbers are real people — skilled professionals, some of whom have been part of U.S. Xpress for decades. They’re leaders, mentors, problem-solvers, and teammates committed to keeping drivers safe and our business moving forward. An example of mentorship in action is Tunnel Hill Manager Brian B. His journey shows the power of dedication and growth. Starting in the parts department in 2011, Brian worked his way up to Maintenance Manager, where he proudly leads a team today.
Earlier this year, he was honored with the 2025 Supervisor of the Year Award by the Technology and Maintenance Council, a testament to his leadership and the respect he’s earned from his team.
Another example of the real people making things happen here at U.S. Xpress is Jacksonville Manager John L., who has created a culture built on teamwork and shared success. With a background in the Marine Corps and a career spent mastering complex equipment, John knows the value of collaboration. In Jacksonville, wins are celebrated together, and challenges are faced as a team, fostering a supportive environment where everyone plays an important role. These leaders, and so many others across our network, are the driving force behind our success. They set the tone for a culture of safety, innovation, and care that benefits every driver and every mile.
Thank You for All You Do
The shop is more than just a place to repair trucks. It’s where innovation, safety, and teamwork come together to keep our drivers rolling and our customers satisfied. Whether it’s a late-night repair to get a truck back on the road or implementing new procedures to prevent breakdowns before they happen, our Maintenance team never stops looking for ways to improve. Their work may often be behind the scenes, but this team is doing its part to keep our drivers on the road.
During Maintenance Appreciation Week, we want to express our gratitude to every member of our Maintenance team. Your skill and dedication to safety help keep U.S. Xpress moving forward.
From parts coordinators and shop technicians to XRA specialists and trailer managers, thank you for all you do.
