Our bench strength across dedicated, trailer management, and safety drives results for the customers we serve. When it comes to the challenges of making goods move better, these folks come with years of know-how across our company and our industry.
What’s happening: New leaders for our dedicated operation, trailer management group, and safety and security teams bring deep experience across the U.S. Xpress business.
Why it matters: Diverse experiences across areas including fleet management, customer experience, and human resources mean a holistic mindset to solving customer challenges.
The bottom line: The people who drive U.S. Xpress forward are the company’s greatest asset. We’re grateful for their dedication to our customers, our mission, and our team.
Three experienced leaders at U.S. Xpress recently advanced into new roles heading up our dedicated operation, our trailer management group, and a newly consolidated safety and security team. Collectively, these folks have worked in multiple facets of the U.S. Xpress business for more than three decades, and bring a deep understanding of our customers and the transportation industry.
Julie Van de Kamp was recently appointed president of the U.S. Xpress dedicated division. In her more than 15 years with the organization, Julie has honed her leadership, sales, and operations skills, most recently serving as senior vice president of our customer experience team. Julie joined U.S. Xpress as part of the pricing team in 2007, and has taken on leadership roles with increasing responsibility over the years across virtually every aspect of our business.
“My favorite thing about our industry is the people and their grit,” Julie said. “They work hard, they love doing it, and they want to solve problems. This industry attracts people who are driven to make things better.”
Kyle Schrader is our new vice president of trailer management. With nearly 14,000 trailers to keep track of, the job is a big one. Kyle has kicked off his work by identifying projects that will have the biggest impact in the shortest time, and directing more resources towards those efforts.
“Finding a trailer is probably one of the most challenging and frustrating things professional drivers deal with every day,” Kyle said. “It’s all about managing the trailers we have in our system, gaining a clear view of our dwelling assets, and getting them back out over the road and into circulation.”
Kyle came to U.S. Xpress in 2017, working in Tunnel Hill, Georgia, as director of fleet operations before moving to a role as director of load planning and optimization. He then took on the role of director of network optimization for our dedicated fleet creating our backhaul department, and he most recently served as senior director of dedicated operations.
Lynn Quintero has stepped into a newly expanded role of vice president of Safety and Security, focused on building close connections between the two groups.
“We have a strong, knowledgeable team in place when it comes to safety and security, and bringing together the three elements of those organizations — safety, compliance, and security — into a cohesive team with shared strategic goals is a top priority,” Lynn said.
In her previous role of vice president of driver services, Lynn oversaw driver-facing programs and our 11 terminals across the U.S., which she will continue to do in her expanded role. She began her career with U.S. Xpress as a human resources generalist at the Markham, Illinois, terminal in 2013. In the decade since, she’s worked as a terminal manager, director of driver services, and vice president of driver services.
“It’s a privilege to work with the people I support, especially the professional drivers,” Lynn said. “No two days are the same, it’s ever changing, it’s so fast-paced, and when you solve those challenges, you know it’s making a difference for the people who are the backbone of our company.”
